PeterLynn Labels has installed a second 10″ Mark Andy 2200 UV flexo line at its production plant in Corby, England to cope with growing demand for self-adhesive work. The family owned company acquired its first 2200 in 1998, says Managing Director Peter Lindsay.

The installation of the new press, fitted with GEW’s new “E-brick” UV system, is designed to facilitate the production of substrates from self-adhesive paper stocks to vinyl and synthetics. Corby produces custom labels, security products, asset identification labels, barcodes, and serial numbered products.

The company also produces “Write & Seal” labels for calibration, service and inspection industries. The labels are supplied partly laminated; a ball point pen is then used to mark them before the laminate is peeled off, leaving the information on the label protected from water, solvents and tampering.

PeterLynn also produces direct thermal (no ribbon) and thermal transfer labels as well as plain labels on a variety of substrates and undertakes trade work for other label printers, packaging companies and design agencies.

According to Peter Lindsay, the company’s strength is its broad customer base, from chemical and industrial products to medical and toiletries. “We offer one standard of service to everyone — our best, and it’s stood us in good stead since we began in 1985.”
